Reviews from Amazon Readers

Logachelle  Great way to start my New Year!

This book was such a pleasant surprise. I have been an avid reader my entire life and I find so many books these days rely on gore, action, and unending meaningless suspense in hopes of keeping the reader interested. I also usually find them either so transparent you see the ending coming in the first chapter or a finale that literally comes out of nowhere. I hate loose endings left dangling in the breeze and no explanations as to how things are tied together. I was engaged by the characters from the very beginning and pretty much binge read it until the ending. (which I seriously did not see coming) In retrospect, and with the author’s guidance, I definitely saw where it had been developing throughout the story. I hope to have the opportunity to explore more gems from Mr. Lacey’s insightful imagination in the future.

Melissa Best Great read well thought out storyline and highly suspenseful

This book is a fantastic read. Highly suspenseful and full of colorful vivid details. The author’s use of imagery as this story unfolds will keep you hooked. Just when you think you may have it all figured out there’s another element that leaves you wondering what will happen next and ready to get to the next page to find out what’s coming. This book will not disappoint and you will want to read it until the end. Great storyline and the author does a great job of painting a picture of each scene and what is going on in the mind of Jack and what he is feeling. I highly recommend this book!

Closure

(Publication Date: August 7, 2019)

In a blink of an eye your life can change.

Jack Thompson believes he has life figured out. A good job with a bright potential, a beautiful girlfriend who he plans to marry, and a brand-new home nestled in an affluent suburb. He has money and a picturesque future, and everything he ever dreamed of. Life could not be better. Nothing could possibly go wrong. He has everything he ever wanted.

Until the one moment when everything he had is gone.

On an early summer morning Jack takes his live-in girlfriend, Amanda, to the airport to visit her sister. At that instant, Jack’s life will never be the same. He watches her board the plane only to never hear from her again. He comes home to a house that has been ransacked, his bank accounts emptied, and his job and career destroyed. A ghost of himself, he becomes a suspect in Amanda’s disappearance as an unwavering veteran detective closes in. At his wits end and running out of time, Jack loses everything he once held dear. All that he believed important has been taken away. With the perpetrators gone and Amanda missing, Jack ends up living in poverty, running from the police and serving time in jail as he continues his search for answers. With friends old and new at his side he never gives up until a trail of clues lead him across the country where he discovers a stunning revelation that the life he once knew was never what it seemed to be. The cost of truth is agony, producing a final violent and bloody end to more than he could have ever known.

Closure is a story of loss, recovery and redemption. A reminder that what we have can be gone in an instant and what we believe is real could vanish into thin air.

The In Between

How many rights does it take to correct the past?

Havenville is a small town that lives on secrets and lies. A missing girl from a prominent family, taken in broad daylight, threatens to reveal all the debauchery of the past. The only suspect, a young man recently released from prison for a prior murder conviction for the killing of two high school aged boys fifteen years before. Back in jail, the only person the suspect will talk to is a friend of his deceased father. An alcoholic county jailer who has his own secrets and ties to the missing girl.

With the assistance of a reporter who grew up in Havenville and a mysterious priest who met with the young man in prison, the authorities search through the deception as time runs out in the search for the missing girl.

The In Between leaves us caught amongst what we are told is real and what we know to be true. What we need to worry about and what we are unable to change. It dictates the mundane and leaves us trapped, surrounded by what is right and what is wrong. In between love and hate, past and present, strife and happiness, pleasure and pain and birth and death.

All the words that were never spoken in between the ones that were.

The In Between is where the truth is concealed.
